2025-04-07 Wrap-Up CMBOCC Wrap-Up / County Manager Update April 7, 2025 10:01 a.m. Present: Commissioner Brummer, Commissioner Pollock, Commissioner Swope, County Manager Ryan Barrett, Becky Butler, David Bailey, Geoff Soderquist, Meja Handlen, Mindy Brooks, Matt Patana, Kate Chatterton, Graham Gowing, Sarah Hensley, Sherri Dokken, Troy Nichols, Casey Mauermann Guest(s): Unnamed guests Recorder: Rieva Lester Public comment: None. 2025 Legislative Session updates: Troy Nichols provided a quick update on the Legislative Session. Executive session: At 10:05 a.m., Commissioner Brummer announced that the Board would be going into executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) until 10:20 a.m. to discuss three topics: Restorical Research Mossyrock claim, Leyva tort claim and signs on county property. At 10:20 a.m., Commissioner Brummer extended executive session until 10:25 a.m. Executive session ended at 10:20 a.m. Commissioner Brummer noted that no decisions had been made. Commissioner Pollock made a motion to approve the proposed settlement agreement and release with the insurance companies regarding the Mossyrock environmental issues as discussed in executive session and to authorize the County Manager to sign the agreement. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0. Agenda change: Commissioner Pollock made a motion to add to the agenda for the April 8, 2025, BOCC Business Meeting Resolution 25-105: Award of contract to Kifer Construction LLC for structural and roofing improvements on the 4-H Barn located at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds. The commissioners noted they do not plan to move forward Resolution 25-107: Establish rules regarding signs on county property. Minute folders: Commissioner Pollock made a motion to approve minute folders for the weeks of Feb. 24, March 3 and March 10, 2025. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0. 911 Director position clarification: The commissioners clarified that the changes regarding the 911 Director position would take effect with the hiring of the next 911 Director. Correspondence: The commissioners directed Rieva Lester to respond to a request for Sasquatch protections. Meeting adjourned at 10:38 a.m.
