Representatives from Populous and Convention Sports Leisure discussed plans for the proposed
equestrian center. They noted that grant funding for the project from Commerce comes with certain
requirements and has a September 2025 deadline.
The representatives discussed the planned width of the center – 240 to 280 feet wide – as well as
proposed uses for the facility, including the following:
• Camping
• Convention center
• Spectator seating
• Training facility for firefighters, police
• Training facility for bodybuilding
• Facility for Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) training
