She said she is monitoring offices and departments that have used more than 50% of their budget. Grace said the Assessor’s Office, Treasurer’s Office and Court Security have had higher expenditures linked to one-time payments for software and that Court Security is looking to acquire grant funding. Becky Butler said the Assessor’s Office will not be able to manage its operational budget and will need to ask for a third-quarter budget amendment. Grace said she is still working with the State Auditor’s Office on the current audit. She said there have been no issues to date, and the SAO will be scheduling the exit conference for August. Larry Grove said special elections went out in the July 16 mail. Tom Stanton sent out a late read-ahead to discuss proposing reclassification of positions with Licensing and Recording. Tom said this is to compensate for the knowledge and additional job duties being required by the Department of Licensing and would not be a budget increase. The commissioners said they appreciated the transparency and said it was a good suggestion. Tom said there has been a drives update and there have been numerous IT updates to the software.
