Commissioner Fund gave the current LTAC unincorporated distribution summary. Commissioner Fund
and Commissioner Stamper went up to a meeting in Packwood to discuss Visit Rainier and their funds
being cut. Commissioner Stamper stated they talked to some of the motels in Packwood and they
reported that their lodging was up by at least 5%. This is with Visit Rainier not having their lodging
establishments listed on their website.
There was discussion on the County funding projects within the county to promote Lewis County.
Commissioner Stamper is looking at how activities and festivals can be expanded to bring more people
into Lewis County.
Chip stated they have loaned out a lot of artifacts to other museums. He feels Lewis County is being
divided and it needs to stop.
Harry stated The Chronicle has been a huge partner to Onalaska. He feels The Chronicle has a great role
representing tourism in Lewis County. He did take offense to the letters that have been recently printed
regarding the LTAC. They are a critical role in unbiased reporting.
Eric feels that if The Chronicle got direct information from the Commissioners, it would be a lot easier
for them. Commissioner Schulte discussed agencies having internal controls and policies to receive
funding from the County.
Eric stated he is open to anyone doing an opinion page for the Chronicle.
Meeting adjourned at 12:00 pm.
