Public comment: None.
Executive session: At 9:31 a.m., Commissioner Brummer announced that the Board would be going into
executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) until 9:36 a.m. to discuss Elliott tort claims.
Executive session ended at 9:36 a.m. Commissioner Brummer noted that no decisions had been made.
Budget amendment: Becky Butler reviewed the upcoming hearing for the budget amendment.
Vacancies: The commissioners reviewed applications received for the Board of Equalization (BOE) and
the Public Facilities District (PFD). The commissioners directed staff to draft resolutions to appoint
Shawn Kyes as a regular BOE member and Martha Hunt as an alternate and to appoint the lone
applicant, Sandra Wing, to the PFD.
The commissioners directed staff to advertise the Open Space vacancy.
Electrician position: Commissioner Pollock made a motion to approve the electrician position as
presented effective Sept. 16. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Minute folders: Commissioner Pollock made a motion to approve minute folders for the week of Aug.
18. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
