Public comment: None.
Wes Anderson discussed a notice of hearing for the renewal of a franchise to AT&T to install, construct,
operate and maintain telecommunications facilities in Lewis County rights of way.
Gabe Anzelini discussed a resolution to list the proposals received and vendor selected for fiber
replacement and installation in the Jail and Law & Justice buildings.
Liz Casteel discussed a resolution to approve extension of a lease with Centralia School District No. 401
for use of a radio communication site on Crego Hill.
Wes Anderson discussed a resolution to change right-of-way acquisition procedures.
Wes Anderson discussed a resolution regarding the proposed acquisition of additional right of way for
Rosebrook Road at MP 0.49-0.56.
Becky Butler discussed a resolution to approve Public Defense contract for Albert Didcock for Superior
Court.
Rieva Lester discussed a resolution to appoint Ryan Thode to the Open Space Advisory Committee.
Wes Anderson discussed a hearing for Traffic Ordinance No. 224 - An ordinance fixing the maximum
speed at which vehicles may be operated over certain roads in Lewis County, Washington: defining
offenses, and providing penalties for the violation thereof.
Commissioner Swope made a motion to move one notice item, two consent items, six deliberation items
and one hearing to the Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025, BOCC Business Meeting agenda. Commissioner Pollock
seconded. Motion passed 2-0.
Announcements / new business / Wednesday Workshop
Department representatives provided updates.
Meja Handlen announced that the county has received the certificate of occupancy for the night-by-
night shelter and that The Salvation Army will move in around mid-October.
Federal government shutdown: Meja Handlen said Medicaid-funded programs and the WIC programs
may be affected by the federal government’s shutdown. She discussed mitigation plans put in place in
response to the situation.
County insurance: The commissioners approved a memo regarding Washington Counties Insurance
Fund (WCIF) coverage.
