Held: Authorizing legal defense and indemnity for Robert Snaza, Sean Swope, Jonathan Meyer and Warren McLeod, and their marital community, if any, regarding a lawsuit brought by Paul Bromm - Action No. 3:26-cv-05384. The commissioners said they will discuss the topic May 18. Grace Jimenez discussed a resolution to rescind Resolution 24-370 and increase the balance of the Lewis County Auditor Revolving fund. Matt Patana discussed a resolution to rescind Resolution 10-115 and update Capital Facilities Planning Committee membership. Kimberly Edminster discussed a resolution regarding the intent to vacate an unimproved portion of Fagley Road #609, Centralia. Kimberly Edminster discussed a hearing for 26-001 (Washington Street): The vacation of an undeveloped right of way, being a continuation of Washington Street in Mineral Commissioner Swope made a motion to move two consent items, three deliberation items – excluding the indemnity resolution – and one hearing to the Tuesday, May 19, 2026, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Brummer seconded. Motion passed 2-0. Executive session: At 9:07 a.m., Commissioner Brummer announced that the Board would be going into executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) until 9:10 a.m. to discuss the Np Buffer Amicus Curiae with Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Scott Gripp. At 9:10 a.m., Commissioner Brummer extended executive session until 9:12 a.m. Executive session ended at 9:12 a.m. Commissioner Brummer noted that no decisions had been made. Announcements / new business Department representatives provided updates, including the following: • Wildlife officials have approved measures to help deter attacks from a nuisance bird • County ROAD-eo is May 14 • Plant sale, paint recycling and Relay for Life taking place at Fairgrounds over the weekend Department of the Interior notice regarding a non-gaming land acquisition application: The commissioners said they will discuss the topic May 18. DNR public hearing re Alder Creek (Burton Christmas Tree farm) land exchange: The commissioners said they will discuss the topic May 18. Opportunity Zones letter of support: The commissioners agreed to sign the letter of support, which identifies the top three priority census tracts as the Port of Centralia, the Port of Chehalis and Randle/Packwood.
